The first-generation BMW Z4 took to the stage 25 years after the legendary BMW Z1, which was unveiled at the 1987 International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt. The BMW Z1 turned heads for its revolutionary door concept, as well as its agile and precisely controllable handling.
With the BMW Z1 began the latest chapter of BMW Roadster history – stretching back to the 1930s with the BMW 328 (winner of the 1940 Mille Miglia) and BMW 507 from 1955. The BMW Z3 and BMW Z8 triggered a fresh wave of excitement for the open-top two-seater concept in the 1990s, paving the way for the first and second-generation BMW Z4.
We’re not currently selling new Z4 vehicles, but the BMW Concept Z4 provides a taste of what is to come. To get a sneak peak of the next BMW Z4 being put through its paces in testing, visit our news article.
