Electric car charging made easy.
Flexibility with public charging stations.
Conveniently park and charge your car the next time you go into town. The public charging of electric cars and plug-in hybrids offers you total flexibility. On longer journeys or when travelling, charge your all-electric car at one of over 10,000 high-power charging stations across the UK. Charging cables and the BMW Charging Card for the public charging network are included when you purchase your BMW electric car or plug-in hybrid.
Extensive charging infrastructure.
Public charging stations for your electric car are easy to find on BMW Maps or in the My BMW App[5]. Alternatively, you can plan your charge-optimised route, either conveniently via the My BMW App[5] or directly in your vehicle.
Plug & Charge. Charge & go.
More than just charging technology. BMW Plug & Charge takes you into the future of electric mobility. The system automatically detects and authenticates your car as soon as you connect it to a Plug & Charge capable charging station. And, thanks to the multi-contract function, you can choose one of several saved charging contracts from different providers. Whether private or business. It's up to you.
The charging times of electric cars.
Charging your electric car at high-power charging stations is the fastest method. You benefit from shorter charging times and higher charging speeds thanks to the high charging power at these DC charging stations. For instance, the new BMW iX3 takes only ten minutes to charge for {techdata.additionalRangeDC} miles⁴.
Comparison of charging times.

¹ Battery electric vehicles require mains electricity for charging. Whilst we recommend the battery is charged to 80% to help optimise the health and life of your battery, the electric range figure shown is the WLTP figure after the battery had been fully charged to 100%. WLTP figures are shown for comparability purposes. Only compare fuel consumption, CO2 and electric range figures with other cars tested to the same technical procedures. These figures may not reflect real life driving results, which will depend upon a number of factors including the starting charge of the battery, accessories fitted (post registration), variations in weather, driving styles, fuel type and vehicle load.
² The stated values are based on the mandatory WLTP measurement procedure. The real life values depend on various factors, e.g. cargo weight, driving style, route, weather conditions, auxiliary electrical consumption (including air conditioning), tires, battery state of health.
³ The charging performance depends on the state of charge, ambient temperature, individual driving profile and use of auxiliary consumers. The ranges shown are based on the WLTP best case. The charging times apply to ambient temperatures of 23 degrees Celsius after a preceding drive and may differ depending on the usage behaviour.
⁴ The recharged range in miles after 10 minutes of High-Power-Charging was determined according to DIN70080 in the WLTP cycle. It depends on the vehicle equipment, individual driving profile, ambient temperature, charging status and the use of additional consumers.

Your BMW Charging Card.
Your personal charging card is your ticket to access the BMW Charging network⁷. You can easily authenticate and charge your electric car or hybrid vehicle on the road at public charging stations using the BMW Charging Card. Alternatively, you can use digital authentication via the My BMW App⁵ or Plug & Charge.
Your fast charging cable (Mode 3) for public charging.
The fast charging cable (Mode 3) for public AC charging offers full flexibility and lets you quickly charge your fully electric vehicle or plug-in hybrid vehicle. Thanks to its length of five metres, it is easy to use at public charging stations.
Benefits of the Multifunction Charger.
The Multifunction Charger lets you charge your vehicle when out and about. When used with the appropriate Mode 3 adapter, you can use it at any public AC charging station with a power output of up to 11 kW. The 6-metre cable gives you plenty of room to park at the charging station. You can also charge your vehicle at home using the adapter supplied.
Straightforward charging.
Intelligent charging flap.
The intelligent charging flap on the new BMW iX3 reduces the hassle of charging. When your vehicle detects that you want to charge, the flap opens automatically. After removing the charging plug, it closes automatically after a few seconds.
Spacious storage compartment under the bonnet.
You can store the Multifunction Charger and associated adapters in the spacious 40-litre storage compartment under the bonnet of your new BMW iX3. The storage compartment can also be used for the fast charging cable (Mode 3) for public AC charging and the tyre repair kit Plus, for example.
