The My BMW Remote app allows you to connect with your car when you’re nowhere near it, so if you want your vehicle to be nice and cool before you get in it, you can activate the air conditioning remotely. Or if you can’t remember whether you locked it, you can do so from wherever you are.
Other features include:
- Remote Light Flash – if you’re struggling to find your car in the dark, you can remotely flash your lights to help you out.
- Google Local Search – this allows you to do an address search on your iPhone and transfer to the results to the vehicle navigation system.
- Vehicle Finder - This displays your vehicle’s location on a your phone’s map (within a radius of up to 1.5 kilometres).
The My BMW Remote app is free, but you will need an active BMW Assist contract in order to use it. If you have not yet activated BMW Assist, you can do so by going to
bmw-connecteddrive.co.uk and filling out the online application form. You will also need Professional or Business navigation system with integrated Bluetooth telephone preparation in your car.
