SPACE EXPLORERS.

THE BMW 2 SERIES MPVs. PRACTICALITY BUILT IN.

A family car is nothing if it can’t cope with everyone’s needs. Using space cleverly where it’s needed most, the BMW 2 Series Active and Gran Tourers are designed to be the workhorses of the family one minute, a driver’s car the next.

BMW 2 Series Active Tourer.

With space for the family and all their luggage, the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer belies its dimensions. Wide doors open fully to allow easy access if you’re fitting or removing child seats from the ISOFIX points on the two outer seats. Seating three across the back is no problem, while extended storage as standard includes nets on the back of the front seats, extra 12V sockets and a net and two lashing points in the boot.
The rear backrest splits 40:20:40 and folding just needs the push of a button, while the seats themselves move by 130mm, prioritising either rear passenger leg space or a bigger luggage compartment. A boot of 468 litres or 1,510 litres with the seats folded gives plenty of space, while automatic tailgate operation is useful when your hands are full. No lip to the boot further helps loading. The front passenger seat back also folds forwards (as long as electric seat adjustment isn’t fitted), allowing transportation of items up to 2.4m long.
The BMW 2 Series iPerformance Active Tourer offers exactly the same package, but sacrifices a small amount of space for the batteries and electric motor – the boot has a capacity of 400 litres, which increases to 1,500 litres with the seats folded down.

BMW 2 Series Gran Tourer.

Whether you’re transporting people, bulky items, or both, the BMW 2 Series Gran Tourer does it with style and ease. From the adaptable rear seats to the spacious luggage compartment, which can be transformed into two extra seats, it has the carrying flexibility for every occasion, yet it always gives a rewarding drive.
Compartments under all front and rear seats and armrests are supplemented by footwell nets and dashboard storage. And to minimise spillages, cups and and bottles sit happily in a variety of easy-to-reach holders. When you’ve got more people than bags, there’s a third row of seats hidden below the boot floor. Even with these in place there’s 145 litres of space.
When you don’t need the third row of seats this increases to between 560 - 720 litres, as the second row of sets has 130mm of movement for more legroom or a bigger boot. They also split 40:20:40 for folding, and for very long items, the front passenger seat also folds, provided electric seat adjustment has not been specified. Fold all the seats down and there’s 1,820 litres of space, while no lip and hands-free boot opening make loading easy.
