All BMW vehicles have technology to make every drive more enjoyable, both for the driver and passengers. BMW Touring models have the same packages and options as the Saloon models on which they’re based, and both the BMW 3 and 5 Series Touring come with BMW Business Navigation as standard, which includes the Traffic Message Channel, BMW Teleservices and BMW Emergency Call. Other technological highlights, all as standard, include tyre pressure monitoring, park distance control front and rear, an automatic tailgate, and a DAB radio, while front seat heating makes a big difference on cold mornings.
Naturally there are a host of additional options. By specifying an automatic gearbox and adding the Driving Assistance Package, the car spots danger before it’s too late. With Lane Departure Warning the car detects lane markings and triggers an alert if the car changes lane without activating an indicator. Or, if a vehicle ahead brakes suddenly, Approach Control Warning is activated – flashing a symbol at first, before emitting a warning sound and finally lightly applying the brakes. The Person Warning Function operates in a similar way, warning of a potential collision with a pedestrian at speeds between 6 and 37 mph by emitting a sound and pre-conditioning the brakes for a faster response. And in the worst case, the system actually applies the brakes.
Across both the BMW 3 Series Touring and 5 Series Touring range, there are options for every need, from back seat entertainment to head-up displays, while BMW ConnectedDrive puts a wealth of digital content at the driver’s disposal. Add in a range of Genuine BMW Accessories, including bike carriers and roof boxes, and whatever adventure you’re planning with your family, a BMW Touring model lets you do it in style.
