DESTINATION: FREEDOM.
ARRIVAL TIME: NOW.

BMW i.

The range of electric vehicles is often a concern with prospective buyers. But instead of thinking about the car’s range between recharging stops, think of how far you drive daily. The UK average is between 20 and 30 miles.
An all-electric BMW i3 will take you up to 125 miles on a single charge. And since it’s simple to keep the car on charge when not in use, that range is available every time you get behind the wheel.
The BMW i8 has a different approach. Its plug-in hybrid technology means that the BMW TwinPower Turbo engine is used to power the car when the batteries can't, and charge them too, depending on the chosen driving mode. And whenever the BMW i8 decelerates or brakes, the regenerative energy created is used to charge the battery.

The BMW i3 with range extender.

There is another way to ease the range anxiety – the BMW i3 with range extender. Externally, this is identical to the all-electric BMW i3, apart from an extra fuelling flap on the front right side of the car. Behind this is a small petrol tank, which fuels an on-board electrical generator that provides electricity to power the electric motor.
Fully fuelled up, the range of the BMW i3 with range extender is 194 miles, and by refilling the tank as necessary, you can travel as far as is needed until you reach a domestic electrical socket or public charging point. Whether it’s 10 miles, or 110 miles.
