BMW eDrive offers maximum driving pleasure almost silently and without driving emissions. Three components form the core of the BMW eDrive: the electric motor, the lithium-ion high performance battery and intelligent energy management.


The drive concept BMW eDrive boasts impressive dynamics. With its combination of electric motor, lithium-ion high performance battery and intelligent energy management, it provides an inspiringly agile driving experience. And when driven purely electrically, it is locally emission-free.

BMW i8.

The BMW i8 is ready to revolutionise its vehicle class, as the first sports car
with the consumption and emission values of a compact car.

BMW i3.

The BMW i3 is redefining sustainable mobility. With its fully electric drive,
it not only boasts a ground-breaking lack of emissions, but also an especially
agile and pleasurable driving experience.

BMW 225xe iPerformance Active Tourer.

The combination of BMW eDrive and BMW TwinPower Turbo three-cylinder petrol engine produces 165kW (224hp) of power with combined CO2 emissions ranging from 49 to 46 g/km and fuel consumption from 141.2 to 134.5mpg.

BMW 330e iPerformance Saloon.

A powerful 135kW (184hp) BMW TwinPower four-cylinder petrol engine works in conjunction with a strong electric motor delivering 65kW (88hp). Combined CO2 emissions are between 45 and 44 g/km, with a fuel consumption of 148.7mpg.

BMW 530e iPerformance Saloon.

The drive's core components include a 135kW (184hp) 4-cylinder petrol engine with BMW TwinPower Turbo technology, a 70kW (95hp) electric motor and a high-voltage lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 9.2kWh. When running on electricity alone, the vehicle has a range of around 29 miles and an electric top speed of 87mph.

BMW 7 Series iPerformance models.

The BMW iPerformance models 740e and 740Le xDrive are driven by a powerful 240hp BMW TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder petrol engine in combination with a highly efficient eDrive electric motor. The result is a range of 27-29 miles on electricity alone, combined CO2 emissions ranging from 56 - 49 g/km and a fuel consumption of 128.4 - 113mpg.

BMW X5 xDrive40e iPerformance.

The BMW X5 xDrive40e iPerformance appears ambitious and pioneering in every respect. Despite its 180kW (245hp) of power, combined CO2 emissions are only 78 to 77 g/km. Fuel consumption is only 85.6 to 83.1mpg.


Choose from simply charging at home, a charging station in the ChargeNow network, or making use of the Assistance Services; either way, the BMW charging concept makes electric driving a convenient everyday pleasure.
