Services and Apps in the BMW X5.

Keep up to date even when you’re on the road: Thanks to the Services and Apps range in the BMW X5, your information-based needs are perfectly catered for while you’re driving.

ConnectedDrive Services.

Fitted as standard on all new X5 models, BMW ConnectedDrive Services provides a wide range of information, entertainment and service features on the road.
These include BMW Online, which gives you access to current, local information including weather, news, online search, as well as office functions. It is also possible to add personalised services such as webcams, parking information, travel and hotel guides.
It also includes secure and unlimited access to smartphone apps like BMW Connected.


Concierge Services from BMW ConnectedDrive puts the BMW Call Centre at your fingertips while you’re on the road*.
Whether you’re looking for a particular restaurant, the nearest cash machine or an emergency pharmacy, a BMW Call Centre agent is always on hand to help and can send address details directly to your car’s navigation system on demand. Concierge Services operates independently of the driver's mobile phone and is available at home and abroad, 24-hours a day, seven days a week.
*Concierge Services requires the ConnectedDrive Services equipment package and is available to purchase as an optional extra.

Online Entertainment.

Find the perfect piece of music for any situation, road or mood. Online Entertainment gives you direct and unlimited access to over 12 million tracks - without having to use your smartphone or other device. Simply open a flat-rate account with one of the BMW music partners. What's more, the music is not just in your BMW: you can use your account on your smartphone and on any other device supported by the relevant BMW music partner. 

Real Time Traffic Information.

Real Time Traffic Information (RTTI), fitted as standard, brings you with the most up-to-date traffic information at all times. You receive precise details of the time and duration of hold-ups virtually in real time.
The data is drawn from a wide variety of sources including movement profiles from the mobile phone network, the GPS data of vehicle fleets, smartphone apps and police reports. This data is analysed so precisely that it is possible to pinpoint traffic congestion to the nearest 500 metres. This lets RTTI deliver information in real time on the current traffic situation on motorways, main roads, country roads and numerous urban routes, as well as recommending good alternative routes.
RTTI is available on subscription for a flexible period via BMW ConnectedDrive Services, either directly from the car, or from the BMW ConnectedDrive Portal -


Standard equipment on all new X5 models, Remote Services enables control of various functions through the My BMW App.
The My BMW Remote App can be used to activate or deactivate the functions. The auxiliary heater can be regulated and it is also possible to transfer destinations directly from GoogleTM Local Search to your car – displaying your location with a radius of 1.5 km around it. You can also lock or unlock the car through the BMW Call Centre.

BMW emergency call.

BMW emergency call permits fast, targeted assistance round-the-clock as well as support by trained staff − in your language even if you are abroad.
If a serious accident takes place that activates an airbag or the belt tensioners, an emergency call is automatically made. Relevant details including the exact position of the car, the severity of the accident and the possible risk of injury to the occupants are transmitted to the BMW Call Centre by the car’s built-in SIM card – totally independently of your mobile phone. The BMW Call Centre will inform the nearest emergency services centre and assist you the over the phone until the rescue services arrive.
The emergency call can also be triggered manually in case other road users require help too.


Get instant web access on the Control Display of your BMW. Enter the URL simply and easily with the iDrive Controller or your bookmarks list for fast access.
With a flat rate for data for the Internet you can surf the web directly from your BMW in your home country (roaming not included). You can surf the web on the Control Display while moving at up to a speed of 5 mph.
