Driving dynamics and efficiency of the new BMW X3.

The new BMW X3 has clear intent: to unite dynamics and safety. This is why it offers maximum ride comfort and clear safety features, even in difficult driving conditions. Further indicators of the outstanding driving experience are the high torque combined with impressive traction and agility. In the new BMW X3, the road ends only where you want it to.

The new-generation BMW TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder diesel engine offers impressive power delivery combined with exemplary consumption figures, as a result of highly innovative technologies such as a turbocharger with variable turbine geometry and common rail direct injection. The engine delivers 195kW (265hp) and an impressive maximum torque of 620Nm.

Thanks to its intelligent lightweight construction, the new BMW X3 has lost weight and, with its precisely intertuned aerodynamic measures, achieves an optimised drag coefficient. Both features have a positive impact on the dynamics, efficiency and fuel consumption. Also enchancing the dynamics is the rear design with defined trailing edges, the aerodynamically optimised exterior mirrors and the Air Curtain in the front apron. The air vent control of the Active Air Stream kidney grille is unique – if demand for cooling air is low, both air vents close automatically, thus providing a further enhancement in aerodynamics.

Less fuel consumption, more driving pleasure: BMW EfficientDynamics is the strategy to minimise fuel consumption and CO2 emissions while at the same time increasing dynamics and driving pleasure. The approach covers the drive system, energy management and vehicle concept itself.

N.B. model displayed expected to be available from December 2017.
