The exterior of the BMW i3 exudes agility. Dual-colour painted surfaces and short projecting edges are depictive of modern design. The characteristic stream flow of the windows – which gives them a single surface appearance – provides a spacious panoramic view.
The unique and spacious interior of the BMW i3 is palpable through the coach doors. The open, inviting design makes entry and loading simple, comfortable and safe. The closed doors assume the protective function of the B-pillar.
The BMW i3's standard U-shaped LED headlights flank the symbol of the brand: the kidney grille. Below, the bumper visually stretches out the front of the vehicle with large design turn signal lights and lends them an extremely powerful expressiveness.
The diffuser-like rear bumper has been increased by 40mm and enhances the width of the rear. The logo with BMW i blue highlights accentuate the characteristic BMW i black belt and once again emphasises the evident sportiness.
As part of BMW's intelligent lightweight construction, the carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) roof reduces the car's mass and shifts the centre of gravity lower. This leads to an increase in agility and dynamics when taking a bend, accelerating and braking.
