BMW ConnectedDrive Services and Apps in the BMW M4 Convertible.

Communication, information and entertainment – experience mobility in a completely new way with the Services and Apps from BMW ConnectedDrive.

ConnectedDrive Services.

Fitted as standard, BMW ConnectedDrive Services provides the driver with a wide range of information, entertainment and service features while on the road.
These include BMW Online, which provides access to current, localised information such as weather, news, and online search powered by GoogleTM and also office functions. In the "Applications" menu, it is also possible to assemble an personalised array of services such as webcams, parking information, travel and hotel guides.
It also includes convenient, secure and unlimited access to selected smartphone apps, as well as access to the BMW ConnectedDrive Store, in which services and apps can be assembled at any time and anywhere according to individual requirements. BMW ConnectedDrive Services offers many more similar options, making every trip in a BMW a real driving experience.


With the BMW Laptimer app, driving data from the racetrack can be precisely recorded and an analysis can be carried out for improving driving-performance. The recorded information, which falls into categories such as accelerator pedal, steering angle, G-force and best lap time, can be posted as snapshots to Twitter, or sent by email.

Concierge Services from BMW ConnectedDrive puts the BMW Call Centre at your fingertips while you’re on the road*.
Whether you’re looking for a particular restaurant, the nearest cash machine or an emergency pharmacy, a BMW Call Centre agent is always on hand to help and can send address details directly to your car’s navigation system on demand. Concierge Services operates independently of the driver's mobile phone and is available at home and abroad, 24-hours a day, seven days a week.
*Concierge Services requires the ConnectedDrive Services equipment package and is available to purchase as an optional extra.

The perfect song for every situation, every road and every mood. Online Entertainment offers direct and unlimited access in a BMW to more than 22 million music titles – all without a smartphone or any other device. There are plenty of tracks to suit every taste. As soon as an artist's song or album is played in the car, it is automatically downloaded to the car's hard disc.
With the Online Entertainment offer, a flat-rate account lasting one year can be opened with any BMW music partner, for example with Napster or rara, which can be used in six different European countries without any additional costs: the UK Germany, France, Italy, Spain and the Netherlands.

Real Time Traffic Information (RTTI), included a sstandard, provides the most up-to-date traffic information at all times. Precise details of the time and duration of hold-ups are relayed virtually in real time.
The data is drawn from such sources as movement profiles from the mobile phone network, the GPS data of vehicle fleets, smartphone apps and police reports. This data is analysed so precisely that it is possible to localise traffic congestion up to 100 metres. This enables RTTI to provide information almost instantly on the current traffic situation on motorways, main roads, country roads and numerous urban routes, and to recommend sound alternative routes.
The visualisation of the traffic information is optimised thanks to a colour display of the roads in green, yellow, orange and red.

BMW Emergency Call.

BMW emergency call permits fast, targeted assistance round-the-clock as well as support by trained staff in the driver's native language, even abroad. If a serious accident takes place, involving activation of an air bag or the seat belt tensioners, a BMW emergency call is automatically issued. Relevant details such as the exact position of the car, the severity of the accident and the possible risk of injury to occupants are transmitted to the BMW Call Centre via the car’s built-in SIM card, i.e. independently of a private mobile phone. The BMW Call Centre will inform the nearest rescue coordination centre and provide assistance over the phone until the rescue services arrive. The emergency call can also be triggered manually in case others on the road require help, for example.

Bluetooth Office allows you to use time spent in the car more effectively. Via Bluetooth-enabled devices, daily work can be conveniently organised while on the go. The most important office functions of specified smartphones, such as emails, appointments, tasks or text messages, are shown on the Control Display and can also be read aloud on demand conveniently and securely over the audio speakers. The Internet equipment option gives you web access via your car's Control Display. All you need to do is enter a URL using the iDrive Touch Controller, or with the bookmark list for even faster access. With a flat data rate for internet use, you can surf the internet directly from your BMW nationwide (roaming is not enabled). The Control Display can be used for web surfing up while travelling at a speed of up to 2.5mph.
