Dynamics and efficiency of the BMW M2 Coupé.

The BMW M2 Coupé offers a supreme driving experience that you won’t forget in a hurry. With its outstanding agility, top-quality dynamics and striking sound, it is unmistakably an ‘M’ vehicle. An optional 7-speed M double-clutch automatic transmission allows extra-quick gear changes. M compound brakes are designed for the heaviest loads. The standard-feature Active M Differential offers maximum driving stability and traction. In short, this is a vehicle created to dominate every road.

M Dual-clutch Transmission with Drivelogic.

The M double-clutch transmission with Drivelogic is an innovative seven-speed double-clutch transmission specially designed for the BMW M high-rev engine. The system boasts a traction-optimised automatic gear selection, Launch Control, Gradient Assist, Hill Detection and Low Speed Assist., (Auto Start/Stop comes as standard – not as part of the Gearbox package – therefore it is not necessary to include it). It makes it possible to change gears extremely quickly without any loss of power.
The system can be controlled automatically or manually using the gearshift paddles on the steering wheel, or the gear stick. This makes it possible to change gears at high speed without using the clutch and without any interruption in the power delivery.

M silencer.

The M silencer with two twin tailpipe finishers optimises the performance and environmental-friendliness of the engine, whilst an electric exhaust flap control perfects the characteristically sporty sound.

Active M Differential.

The Active M Differential variably distributes the drive torque between the two rear wheels to optimise traction and driving stability when accelerating out of bends or on difficult road surfaces. It provides perfect handling without any power waste under situations of extreme acceleration.

M compound brakes.

The technology behind M compound brakes comes from the world of motorsport, allowing them to maintain constant effectiveness and brake-fade stabilisation, even under demanding usage. The use of various highly resilient materials results in excellent thermal stability, long-term durability and precise braking. It also reduces the weight of the brakes, which has a positive effect on agility, dynamics, acceleration and fuel consumption.
The perforated, ventilated brake disc rings (front 380 mm, rear 370 mm) with four-piston fixed callipers at the front and two-piston fixed callipers at the rear ensure optimal responsiveness in wet conditions and improve heat dissipation. The Blue metallic brake callipers with the characteristic M logo strongly emphasise the brake discs' sporty appearance and distinctive M design.

BMW EfficientDynamics technologies.

BMW EfficientDynamics is the strategy developed by BMW to minimise fuel consumption and emissions while simultaneously increasing dynamics and driving pleasure. It is a comprehensive technology package that includes the drive train, energy management and the vehicle concept based on intelligent lightweight construction, and it is standard in every BMW.
The new generation of petrol and diesel engines in the BMW TwinPower Turbo family is responsible for the improved performance and lower fuel consumption. Optimised aerodynamics contribute to increasing efficiency, as does BMW EfficientLightweight, which simultaneously lowers weight and increases vehicle rigidity by using the right materials in the right places.
