The new BMW TwinPower Turbo engines in the BMW 6 Series Gran Coupé.

With the powerful BMW TwinPower Turbo engines from BMW EfficientDynamics, the BMW 6 Series Gran Coupé has a majestic elegance in every situation on the road. In addition, the combination of two turbochargers, Valvetronic, Double-VANOS and High-Precision Injection ensures excellent performance and efficiency.

The phenomenal power of the BMW 650i provides the basis for the dynamics that propel the BMW 6 Series Gran Coupé. Just a light touch on the accelerator pedal is enough to unleash the BMW TwinPower Turbo V8 engine, which reaches 62 mph in just 4.6 seconds with its two turbochargers, Valvetronic, Double-VANOS and High-Precision Injection. With a formidable 330 kW (450 hp) and a maximum torque of 650 Nm, the BMW TwinPower Turbo V8 petrol engine offers impressive fuel consumption, too: Fitted with Auto Start-Stop and other BMW EfficientDynamics features, the average fuel consumption of the BMW 650i is 8.8 to 8.6 l/100 km, with CO2 emissions of 206 to 199 g/km. This means that the BMW 650i meets the EU6 emission standard.

BMW TwinPower Turbo inline six-cylinder petrol engine.

Commanding power and a silky-smooth ride: The potency of the BMW TwinPower Turbo inline six-cylinder petrol engine is legendary. In combination with various BMW EfficientDynamics measures, it was possible to further reduce the fuel consumption of the BMW 640i. The result: just 7.8 to 7.5 l/100 km, CO2 emissions of 182 to 174 g/km and acceleration of 0 to 62 mph in 5.4 seconds at an impressive 235 kW (320 hp) and maximum torque of 450 Nm This means that the BMW 640i meets the EU6 emission standard. The BMW TwinPower Turbo concept combines revolutionary technologies with innovative fine-tuning. The BMW TwinScroll turbocharger and Valvetronic feed fresh air to the combustion chambers. Here the High Precision Injection creates a precisely harmonised fuel-air mixture within milliseconds while Double-VANOS perfectly adapts engine output to the engine speed range. The result: maximum efficiency and power across a wide engine speed range and an immediate response at all times. Just the engine you would wish for in the BMW 6 Series Gran Coupé.

BMW TwinPower Turbo inline six-cylinder diesel engine.

The performance of the BMW 640d speaks for itself: a fast power build-up and a low level of fuel consumption. The basis for this is provided by innovative BMW TwinPower Turbo technology, which combines CommonRail direct injection and multi-stage turbocharging with variable turbine geometry. This significantly reduces fuel consumption while, at the same time, powerfully increasing output. High torque of 630 Nm is available even at just 1,500 and 2,500 rpm. The extremely smooth-running and spontaneously responsive BMW TwinPower Turbo inline six-cylinder diesel engine has an output of 230 kW (313 hp), thereby providing impressive pulling power. In combination with other BMW EfficientDynamics measures, it was possible to additionally lower fuel consumption to just 5.7 to 5.4 litres of diesel per 100 kilometres, with CO2 emissions of 152 to 143 g/km. And acceleration to 62 mph takes just 5.4 seconds from a standing start. The BMW 640d meets the EU6 emission standard.

They are determined using the prescribed measuring methods (Directive 80 / 1268 / EEC in its current version). They do not relate to any one particular vehicle, nor are they part of any offer made, rather they are solely for the purpose of comparing different kinds of vehicle.
