The BMW TwinPower Turbo engines in the BMW 2 Series Convertible.

One touch of the start button is all it takes and the award-winning drive system in the BMW 2 Series Convertible kicks into gear. All BMW TwinPower Turbo engines come with intelligent EfficientDynamics technologies. Meaning all our engines – petrol, diesel, four-cylinder and six-cylinder alike – deliver dynamic power and remarkable efficiency. And, of course, maximum driving pleasure.

M Performance TwinPower Turbo inline six-cylinder petrol engine.

Get behind the wheel of a BMW M240i and you’ll experience not only unbridled power, but also unadulterated agility and outstanding suitability for everyday use. The M Performance TwinPower Turbo 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder petrol engine combines Valvetronic including Double-VANOS and High Precision Injection with a Twin Scroll turbocharger. Extremely responsive, high torque even at low revs and a wide rev range. The result is maximum torque of 500 Nm, with average consumption of 34.0 [38.2] mpg. The M Performance TwinPower Turbo inline six-cylinder petrol engine can accelerate the vehicle from 0 to 62 mph in just 4.9 seconds (Steptronic transmission: 4.7 seconds). All figures were determined in accordance with the EU test cycle and depend on the selected tyre size.

BMW TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder petrol engines.

Agile power delivery, outstanding responsiveness and exceptional fuel efficiency characterise the petrol engines in the BMW 2 Series Convertible. The BMW 228i has a maximum output of 180 kW (245 hp), with an average consumption of only 6.8 l/100 km (Steptronic transmission: 6.6 l/100 km). With its TwinScroll turbocharger with Valvetronic, Double-VANOS and High Precision Injection, the power unit produces maximum torque of 350 Nm at just 1,250 rpm.

BMW TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder diesel engines

Thanks to CommonRail direct injection and lightweight aluminium construction, the BMW 2 Series Convertible’s four-cylinder diesel engines with BMW TwinPower Turbo technology boast outstanding fuel economy and low emissions with impressive performance. The BMW 220d requires just of 4.7 to 4.4 litres of fuel for/100 km (Steptronic transmission: 4.4 to 4.1 l/100 km) and CO2 emissions of 124 to 116 g/km (Steptronic transmission: 116 to 108 g/km), with CO2 emissions of 124 to 116 g/km (Steptronic transmission: 116 to 108 g/km). All figures were determined in accordance with the EU test cycle and depend on the selected tyre size.
