Comfort & safety in the BMW 2 Series Coupé.

Sometimes it’s more fun to swim against the tide – as the BMW 2 Series Coupé flawlessly demonstrates. Those who forge new paths also appreciate travelling down safely illuminated roads and will want to ensure that oncoming traffic has a dazzle-free journey. Servotronic keeps the steering behaviour optimal at all times and numerous details make even unconventional days easier – regardless of where life takes you.

Adaptive Headlights.

The Adaptive Headlights with variable city and motorway light distribution, including cornering lights as well as Bi-Xenon headlight technology, provide optimal illumination of the road ahead. The moving headlights light up bends and corners as soon as the driver starts turning the steering wheel. To improve short-range visibility, the cornering lights are automatically activated as soon as the turn indicator is switched on or the steering wheel is turned – even when the vehicle is at a standstill. The Adaptive Headlights ensure optimal illumination in every situation on the road, significantly increasing driving safety.

Outstanding. Expressive.

High-Beam Assistant.

The High-Beam Assistant relieves the driver at night by automatically switching between high and low beam depending on the presence of vehicles in front or oncoming traffic. The lights are also automatically dimmed when street lighting is sufficient.
A camera located near the rear-view mirror detects the headlight surrounds of other vehicles at a distance of up to 1,000 metres. When the High-Beam Assistant is activated and an oncoming vehicle approaches or the rear lights of a vehicle in front are detected, the system automatically switches between high and low beam.

Enjoy optimal power steering support in every driving situation with Servotronic. It adjusts the steering power to suit the current speed and delivers a direct and precise steering response at high speeds. It also offers supreme comfort by minimising the physical effort required when steering, as well as maximising agility when parking, manoeuvring, or navigating narrow or twisting roads.
A control unit uses the electronic speed measurements to determine the necessary power steering support for every driving situation. An electronically controlled valve in the steering hydraulics allows fine power steering adjustments to be made that are far more precise than with conventional servo-assisted power steering systems which rely on motor RPM for orientation.
This system means that less physical effort is necessary for steering at lower speeds. As speed increases, servo-power is progressively decreased in order to ensure direct contact with the road and ensure directional stability.

The BMW 2 Series Coupé exceeds expectations inside as well as out. The storage compartments in the doors have enough room for one-litre bottles and cup holders in the centre console, and the rear centre armrest ensures drinks are securely stowed.
The rear-seat backrests can be folded down in a 40:20:40 split for the transportation of larger and bulkier objects. The storage compartment package enhances the BMW 2 Series Coupé with helpful features, like a floor net, bag holders and lashing eyes in the luggage compartment. This ensures safety and functionality.

Comfort Access system.

Innovative and easy to operate – the Comfort Access system makes it possible to open the car doors and start the engine without having to use the car key. The key, which may be in a trouser pocket or briefcase, is automatically recognised upon approaching the car. Once the door has been automatically unlocked, the driver can get in and start the engine by pressing the Start/Stop button.
The Comfort Access system relies on key authentication to ensure its security.
