BMW ConnectedDrive provides innovative services for greater comfort, infotainment and safety in your BMW.  BMW Apps represents a revolution in in-car infotrainment and is available for all BMW models.

The BMW Connected App creates new possibilities for unique networking between the vehicle, your iPhone, and the outside world.

You just connect the iPhone to the USB connection or SnapIn adapter in your BMW, start the app and then experience the functions of this app via the iDrive controller, the display and the audio system of the vehicle.

Functions:

NEW: News (can be used both in and outside the vehicle):

Receive news services via RSS and view them on your vehicle display. You edit your subscriptions to the news feeds on the iPhone.

Wiki Local is the perfect travel companion. Find Wikipedia articles relating to nearby locations. For example, you can find Wikipedia articles on local sights and have them played back to you, if required.

Web radio (can be used both in and outside the vehicle):

Allows you to listen to countless Internet radio stations from all over the world via your iPhone in your BMW.

The latest status messagesfrom social networks are displayed in the vehicle and can also be played back via a text-to-speech function. This allows you to stay networked everywhere and all the time.

BMW is the first automobile manufacturer worldwide to provide the option to display iPhone calendar entries in-vehicle and to have them played back when required. This allows you to keep an eye on your appointments (daily, weekly, monthly und detailed view) when you're on the road.

This function uses the connection between the iPhone and the vehicle to transfer the vehicle's navigation objectives and location data to the iPhone. Where required, you can use the iPhone's in-built map navigation to find your way to and from your final destination and your parked car.

Please note: the BMW Connected App can only be used in BMW models with the "Apps" special equipment. A retrofit has been on offer for this special equipment since 01/2012. Contact your BMW dealer for details.

If so, you can use the following functions with the "My BMW Remote" app installed on an Apple iPhone:

•    Remote Door Lock & Unlock
•    Remote Climate Control (BMW X3 from March 2011)
•    Remote Light Flash: remote control of configurable exterior light functions to locate the vehicle
•    Google Local Search: address destination search on the iPhone and transfer to the vehicle navigation system
•    Vehicle Finder: display of current vehicle position on a map in the iPhone - for locating a parked car within a radius of up to 1,5 kilometre.

If so, you can use the following services:

•    Remote Door Lock & Unlock
•    Google Local Search: address destination search on the iPhone and transfer to the vehicle navigation system

The "My BMW Remote" app can be used exclusively by customers with an active BMW Assist contract. If you have not yet activated BMW Assist, you can do so very simply at your computer by going to www.bmw.co.uk/connecteddrive and then selecting the online application form.

The technical requirements for using BMW Assist are as follows:

Professional or Business navigation system with integrated Bluetooth telephone preparation.

The "My BMW Remote" app is available free of charge to you as a BMW Assist customer. Usage is based on the general contractual and usage conditions for mobility services with BMW Assist.
