Five easy steps to your new BMW

At BMW Financial Services, we aim to ensure the process of financing your BMW runs as smoothly as the car itself.

We've helped thousands of customers find the perfect solution to put them behind the wheel of their chosen BMW.

You'll find the process more straightforward than you might have first thought, particularly if you're already familiar with our range of solutions and have a general idea of your budget.

There are five simple steps to your new BMW.

Discuss your options

Step one

At every BMW Dealership, you'll find a BMW Financial Services Specialist with extensive expertise in motor finance and leasing.

Whichever BMW you're interested in, they'll talk you through your finance options, explain the solutions we offer and give you all the information you need to make the decision that's right for you.

Select a suitable finance solution

Step two

When you've decided on the finance solution that best suits you, the Financial Services Specialist will provide you with a quotation.

If you decide to proceed, you'll be asked to complete a credit application. This will be sent to us at BMW Financial Services and usually we'll provide an answer within two to four hours.

At the time of completing your credit application you'll be asked to read a notice which explains how we'll use the personal data you provide.

Ensure you have the necessary documents

As part of the application process, you'll need to show us proof of your identity.

We'll need to see:

Your full UK Driving Licence.
A second proof of your current address - ideally a public utility bill or a bank statement (dated within three months of the date on your application form) or a solicitor's letter*.

The documents you supply must be originals. But don't worry, the Financial Services Specialist at the dealership will photocopy them and return them to you before you leave.

If you're planning to part exchange your current car, please also bring along the DVLA V5 vehicle documentation.

When we receive your completed finance application and proofs of identity, we'll check your credit worthiness by making searches at credit reference agencies and see whether you meet our underwriting criteria.

*Unfortunately we cannot accept store card statements, Social Security books or mobile telephone bills as proof of address.

Step four

Complete the agreement

Step four

If we accept your finance application, the Financial Services Specialist will print an agreement document and some pre-contract information for you to read. You'll need to check and sign this agreement before taking delivery of your BMW.

Please ensure that:

You're happy with the way BMW Financial Services will use the personal information you provide to us.
Your personal and financial details are correct, particularly the first instalment date.
You've read and understood the Terms and Conditions of the agreement, as they are legally binding and form the basis of your agreement with us.
Your direct debit is fully completed, and your bank account number and sort code are correct.

If you need to make any corrections, please initial the changes, and then sign the agreement.

Step five

Take delivery of your BMW

Step five

Once you've signed it, you'll be given a copy of your finance agreement. You can then take delivery of your new BMW.

Shortly after this, we'll send you a Welcome Pack which contains everything you need to know about your agreement plus additional information that might be of interest.
