Call handling via cordless handset in rear
Comfortable call handling with cordless handset via Bluetooth with high quality voice connection. Stable Bluetooth connection. Quick, reliable reconnection. Control of the mobile phone via user interfaces of the cordless handset or vehicle.	A current call cannot be transferred to and from the vehicle.	With some mobile phone models, the SAP mode must be activated before the mobile phone can be used, e.g. with Nokia 5700 this activation is carried out in the Bluetooth menu via the "External SIM mode" option. With some mobile phone models, automatic reconnection must first be activated. This is generally performed when the corresponding mobile phone is selected in the "Linked devices" Bluetooth menu>> "Option" by activating "Automatic connection without confirmation". Some mobile phones sporadically do not connect to the vehicle (e.g. Nokia E51). Remedy: Turning the mobile phone off and on. Some mobile phones will switch to a standby status after the Bluetooth/SAP connection has been established where entries on the mobile phone are no longer possible without disconnecting. When the SAP connection is cleared, the Nokia 8800 displays this message: "No service". This is incorrect; the mobile phone is fully functional.
Contacts, transfer from mobile phone
All contacts in the mobile phone contacts list with at least one number are transferred. All numbers in a contact entry in the internal phone contacts list are transferred and displayed. The number type (home, work, mobile) is also transferred for internal contact entries and displayed.	A maximum of 4 numbers per contact are supported for the vehicle.	The transfer of the phone book may take several minutes depending on the mobile phone. Depending on the mobile phone, umlauts and special characters may be displayed incorrectly in the vehicle (partially sporadically) (e.g. Nokia N78). It is advisable to resynchronise with Outlook if problems are encountered with the phone book.

As the application of the Bluetooth standard differs considerably from one mobile phone model to another and can also vary over the course of the product lifecycle, BMW UK cannot accept any responsibility for any impaired performance. BMW UK recommend the use of a snap-in adapter to ensure that the mobile phone is secured safely, that it is charged and connected with the external antenna.
