- Comfortable hands-free calls via Bluetooth with high voice quality.
- Stable Bluetooth connection.
- Quick, reliable reconnection.
- Mobile telephone control via the vehicle user interfaces.
- Problem-free Bluetooth coupling of the mobile phone with the vehicle.
- Display of current signal strength
- Display of Roaming status
|
- Independently of the mobile phone involved, the indicators are generally not supported in X3 models.
|
- Sporadic, temporary interruption of the Bluetooth connection (e.g. during call setup), especially with some Nokia models.
- Depending on your mobile network, mobile phone model and location, the voice quality may be impaired.
- Pairing with the Apple iPhone only possible with a 4- to 16-digit passkey.
- iPhone volume. It might be necessary to make a once-only adjustment to in-car volume by means of the rocker button on the side of the iPhone. If the iPhone is running software version 2.2 or higher the volume at the landline end is very low, which means that the landline user might have difficulty understanding what the driver says.
- Activation of WLAN in the Apple iPhone can lead to impaired voice quality (e.g. acoustic interference).
- In the case of some mobile phones (Apple iPhone, HTC, RIM), the passkey must first be entered on the mobile phone.
- In the case of some of the Nokia 6230i models, problems were observed with reconnection and stability of the connection, depending on the mobile phone hardware and software. In this case, please update the software of the mobile phone, delete the Bluetooth device list in the mobile phone, repeat pairing procedure and then briefly switch off the mobile phone.
- Some Nokia mobile phones ignore the local setting "Transmission of own call number" with calls made via the Bluetooth interface; in this case, the setting selected by the service provider is used as the default setting.
- With some Sony Ericsson mobile phones, the Bluetooth connection may break down when the energy-saving function is activated. If this happens, deactivate the option "Save energy" in the Bluetooth menu of your mobile phone.
- With some Motorola mobile phones, a call terminated via the mobile phone may still be displayed as active on the vehicle screen; if this happens, switch the mobile phone off for a few seconds.
- With some Samsung mobile phones, the Bluetooth connection must be explicitly confirmed on the mobile phone or it must be explicitly authorized in the settings of the mobile phone.
- With RIM Blackberry phones operated in Enterprise mode, functionality in the vehicle depends on the access rights conferred by the company: The setting within the "Bluetooth Policy Group" must correspond to the standard ettings specified by RIM.
- On some mobile phones, a call is terminated immediately if the called number is engaged or does not exist.
- Some mobile phones only update the signal strength status with a time delay
- There have been isolated reports of pairing problems with Nokia N and E series mobile phones. In most instances the problem can be solved by switching the mobile phone off for a few minutes and then on again; it might also be necessary to run through the pairing routine again.

Changes compared to the last version dated March 2009.

|
- All contacts in the mobile phone contacts list with at least one number are transferred.
- All numbers in a contact entry in the internal phone contacts list are transferred and displayed.
- The number type (home, work, mobile) is also transferred for internal contact entries and displayed.
|
- Display of the number type ("home", "mobile", "work", "other") is not supported in X3.
|
- Some mobile phones only transfer one telephone number per contact list entry. On Nokia mobile phones, the number to be transferred can be labelled as "Standard".
- Depending on the phone involved, transferring the contacts can take several minutes.
- Depending on the mobile phone, special characters of text may in some cases, sporadically, be displayed incorrectly inside the vehicle.
- With some mobile phones, the contacts are only transferred if the mobile phone is ready for operation (i.e. logged into the network) at the moment of ignition.
- The transmission of large phone books is not supported by all mobile phones: Depending on the mobile phone model, the phone book is transmitted partially or not at all. Mobile phone resets were also partially observed.
- On some mobile phone models (e.g. from Apple, Nokia, Sony Ericsson, RIM and Motorola), the sort sequence displayed in the vehicle (e.g. "Sorting by last name") can be influenced by the sort sequence adjustment on the mobile phone. A precondition here is that the constituents of the name in the mobile phone are correctly assigned to the first name or last name field. If the mobile phone only supports one field for the complete name, ensure that the commas are place correctly on entering a name, i.e. either <last name>, <first name> or <first name> <last name>
|
|
|
|
|
- All numbers on the SIM card are transferred and displayed.
|
|
- With regard to the sort sequence, SIM card entries on most mobile phones are displayed in the vehicle in the same way as they are stored on the mobile phone. Some mobile phones interpret the first name / last name depending on a comma - this mechanism is also used frequently when importing SIM card entries into the telephone book of the mobile phone. Example: With a SIM card entry "Smith John" (without comma), "Smith" would be interpreted by the mobile phone as the first name and "John" as the last name.

- Some mobile phones do not display the number of the incoming caller correctly inside the vehicle when the current call is terminated.
