Can you tell me the waiting time for ordering a new vehicle?

All BMW Dealers will have their own allocation of vehicles and waiting times will vary between models. We suggest that you contact your local BMW Dealership who will be able to advise you of the waiting times for a particular model.

Can you tell me the difference between ES, SE and Sport model specification?
A.
A full list of the options included with each particular model is available in the New BMW model range section of the website. There is also a tool to compare the specification of different models.

If I give you a registration, can you tell me the original specification of a vehicle?
A.
Please contact our Customer Information Department on 0800 325 600, who will be able to check the specification of the vehicle when it was released from our factory.

Can I have an option fitted to my vehicle after the car has been built?
A.
Please contact the Service Department at your local BMW Dealership who will investigate whether it is possible to retrofit any accessory once the vehicle has been produced.

I am importing a BMW. How can I receive a confirmation of the build date of the vehicle?

Please quote the full chassis number of the vehicle (usually 17 digits) and your full address and daytime contact number. We will then be able to send you a letter confirming the build date.

If you misplace one of your keys you should contact your nearest dealer as soon as possible to reduce the chance of theft. They will be able to advise you on the best course of action. To find your nearest dealership please use the "Find a dealer" link.

Can you tell me the cost for servicing my BMW?
A.
The cost of a service will vary between dealerships and model. Therefore we suggest that you contact an approved BMW Dealership that will be able to quote on the prices for servicing. BMW do offer Service Inclusive available on all new BMWs. For an initial cost you cover the cost of servicing your vehicle for a specified time of 3 years/36,000 miles or 5 years/60,000 Miles.

Can you tell me what tyres BMW recommend are used on my BMW?
A.
Please consult your local BMW Dealership to find out the most suitable tyres compatible with your vehicle.
Q.
Can you tell me the recommended tyre pressures for my car?
A.
Tyre pressures are very important to the handling characteristics of your vehicle. You must ensure that these are checked regularly in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations. Please refer to the plaque on the inside of the driver's door pillar, which will indicate the tyre pressures for your particular vehicle. Alternatively, consult your local BMW Dealership for assistance.

Can you tell me which oil I should use in my BMW?
A.
BMW recommend Castrol. Check the owner's manual, which will indicate the correct oil grade to be used in your vehicle. Alternatively, contact the Parts Department at your local BMW Dealership, who will be able to supply the correct oil for your vehicle.
Q.
How can I de-activate the airbag on my BMW?
A.
You will need to book your BMW into your nearest BMW Dealership, where they will be able to de-activate it on your behalf. You can find your nearest dealer by using the "Find a dealer" link.

Can snow chains be fitted to my vehicle?
A.
Please refer to the Owners manual or contact the Parts Department at your local BMW Dealership who will be able to advise whether Snow Chains are compatible with your vehicle.
Q.
Can you tell me BMW's recommendation for children sitting in the front passenger seat?
A.
BMW recommend that children should always be seated in the rear of the vehicle. The child should be over 12 years old and a minimum of 4' 10 to sit in the front passenger seat. If you nevertheless need to fit a child restraint system on the front passenger's seat, the front passenger's airbag must be deactivated. Please contact the Service Department at your local dealership for further assistance.

If I secure a child seat in the rear, do I have to deactivate the rear-side airbags?
A.
The BMW child seats are designed to use the ISOFIX attachments. If the child seat is fitted correctly using the ISOFIX attachments, then there is no need to have the rear side airbags deactivated. However, these can be deactivated if required. Please contact the Service Department at your local dealership for further assistance.

I have searched for an Approved Used BMW, but when I try to view the second page of results I am returned back to the search criteria page.
A.
The Used Car search uses cookies to save the details of your search. If the privacy setting on your internet browser is set above 'Medium', it will stop you from being able to view the full set of results. You can change this in Internet Explorer by clicking on the 'Tools' menu, selecting 'Internet options' from the list, clicking the 'Privacy' and setting the slider bar to 'Medium'.
Q.
I am trying to use the BMW Car Configurator but it will not work.
A.
The Car Configurator uses Java to display the images of the vehicles and you need to have Java installed on your computer to view this section of the website. Visit www.java.com and run the download programme. Some firewalls will stop the required part of Java from loading, in which case you will need to get your system administrator to allow Java applets to be loaded and run.

I have seen movies on the website when using other computers, but I can't see them now.
A.
The BMW experience sections under the New BMW model range and some microsites use Flash. To view these sections of the site, you will need to have the current version of Flash installed on your computer. Flash can be downloaded from http://www.macromedia.com. Due to the size of these movies, the website will also detect how fast your connection to the internet is. If you have a slow connection, the links to these movies will not be displayed.
